Guten Tag!

As the cheesy title might suggest, I'm practicing my German.

So tomorrow I head out to Boston to sleep before I go on an expedition that will pleasantly conclude this gorgeous summer. If anyone reading this is unaware of what expedition I speak of, I will gladly summarize:

My father and I are crossing the Atlantic Ocean (by plane; Dave didn't feel like swimming)  to begin a Euro-trip for two weeks (zwei wochen.) We'll be touching base the first day (Tuesday) in London for a bit, then passing through Paris the second day to reach Strasbourg, France, where we will start our journey for the first week. We will be following the path that my grandfather (and my father's father) Jim Waterman, trekked as a soldier in the Second World War (hopefully with less gunfire.) This will lead us across France and leaving us in Heilbronn, Germany.

The second week, I'll be attending a summer marimba program in Engers, Germany, on the Rhine River. This program is Nebojsa Jovan Zivkovic's International Summer Academy for Marimba and Percussion. I'll be there for a week, and shall be back in the States on the 31st of August.

If you've made it this far in this entry, I must thank you for actually being interested. I thought I'd make this blog to post some pictures, and some things I learn while I'm there. I'll eventually throw the pictures up on Facebook, but I feel like this will be a nice spot to organize everything I see over there.

Much love,

James
